Nekeshia Wall, of Greensboro, NC, graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and African American Studies. She has performed for Sugarfoote Productions under the artistic direction of Robin Gee since 2005 and other dance companies such as Urban Dance Theatre and Balafon Dance Ensemble. Her choreographic method is grounded in her research interests, which explore and examine race, identity, womanism and environmental justice. Wall recently completed her Masters of Fine Arts in Choreography at Hollins University in collaboration with Kunstlerhavs Mousontvrm and The Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, with support from The Dresden Frankfort Dance Company. She recently joined the UNC Greensboro dance department as an adjunct teaching traditional West African dance and will also collaborate with The Possibility Project, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that empowers teenagers to transform the negative forces in their lives into positive action by using the performing arts and community action.
