Erin Wilson is the Founder & Artistic Director of ArtPeers, an interdisciplinary artist collective that creates time-based media through site-responsive performance art. New York Magazine senior art critic Jerry Saltz says Wilson’s work is “unconventional, with a unique connection to the dancers.” Hyperallergenic co-editor Hrag Vartanian described an award-winning 2014 dance-on-film installation as “very original, and highly responsive to its environment.” Wilson’s collaborative dance-on-film work has been selected for exhibition at Detroit’s N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, and the Grand Rapids Urban Institute for Contemporary Art. ArtPeers’ work was selected in 2015 to represent the USA in the Brazil festival, Mostra Internacional de Videodança de São Carlos. The year prior, ArtPeers and DITA won the $20,000 Time-Based Juried Award at ArtPrize. Recent dance collaborators include: Dance in the Annex (DITA), Lamar and Dancers, The RED ProjectNYC, Downtown Grand Rapids, Inc., White Werx and NYC-based Satellite Collective. Most recently, ArtPeers artists from Detroit and Grand Rapids (MI) journeyed to Middle Tennessee to create a realtime dance-on-film project in the Path of Totality, during the 2017 Solar Eclipse (trailer available on ArtPeers Vimeo / YouTube).
